Photo dermatology and UV-Related Skin Disorders

Ultraviolet radiation is a major environmental factor contributing to photoaging and skin cancer development. This topic will examine the effects of UVA and UVB exposure on the skin.Participants will explore photodermatoses, photosensitivity disorders, and chronic sun-induced skin changes. The relationship between cumulative UV exposure and skin malignancies will be discussed.Photo protection strategies, sunscreens, protective clothing, and behavioural interventions will be highlighted. The role of patient education in reducing preventable UV-related disease will be emphasized. Emerging approaches to photoprotection and monitoring of high-risk individuals will be considered. Evidence-based strategies for maintaining long-term skin health will be promoted.
