Teledermatology

Teledermatology is a possible subspeciality of dermatology in which medical information is exchanged via various media by means of telecommunication technology, typically carried out by non-dermatologists for evaluation off-site by dermatologists. The two guiding concepts of teledermatology practice are store and forward (SAF) and real-time or interactive teledermatology. By enabling dermatologists to treat minor diseases online while urgent conditions requiring immediate attention are given priority for visits, teledermatology can reduce wait times.
